The Best Canned Chilis

It feels weird to write this post, because who writes a post entirely about their favorite canned chilis? Sadly, as someone who doesn’t have a lot of time, making chili from scratch, even in a crockpot, is not a thing for me. It takes many iterations to get a chili recipe to my liking, and why bother when someone else has it all figured out already?

Luckily, for those of us who love chili and don’t like to cook, there are many good canned chilis out there. Keep reading for my favorites. You’ll be glad to know that this list of chilis includes deliciousness that will make both meat-eaters and vegans/vegetarians happy.

Skyline Chili

Skyline Chili is the iconic chili from Cincinnati, Ohio. It’s not exactly healthy, but boy, it sure is delicious on a bed of spaghetti, topped with some cheese and diced onions. If you live around Cincinnatti, you can pick up a can at your local grocery store. If you don’t, you can luckily order both cans and pouches online.

Amy’s Chili

Amy’s Chili is my favorite chili, because I can find it at any grocery store or buy it online. All of her chilis are vegan, and whether you like spicy or non-spicy chili, there’s one for you. Oh, and did I mention that they’re all organic?

Here are a few varieties of Amy’s Chili (I have tried them all and they’re delicious!):

Amy’s chilis come with a lid that opens and peels off, so you don’t even need a can opener. I can verify that, sadly, Amy’s chili is even good cold (if you’re too lazy to use a bowl and prefer to live dangerously and eat right out of the chili can).

Really, everything Amy makes is delicious. Check out her soups, also, as well as the frozen meals you can find in your grocery’s freezer aisle.

Campbell’s Chunky Soup Chili Mac

Campbell’s Chunky Soup Chili Mac is the ideal comfort food. It’s got pasta, chili, and sausage, which all come together to provide happiness and an end to your hunger pangs on even the busiest of days. I like to eat this chili-soup hybrid topped with this Southern Style trail mix for a bit of added crunch, but to each their own. (It’s also pretty good eaten cold, if you are in a hurry.)

Chili is the perfect food!

Well, there you have it. Three of my favorite chilis. While many people think of chili as a fall comfort food, I like to eat chili year-round. It’s the heartiest, most perfect food, dontcha think?
